TeamMe mobile app for athletes
About the company
TeamMe is a mobile app for physically active people who want to train together rather than alone. The product combines social features with training tools: it helps users find a workout partner, create groups, communicate, plan activities and track progress. The app also offers Garmin integration, support for sports routes, rankings and extensive training statistics in a freemium and premium model.

Project challenges
- Combining the social layer with real training value. The app was not meant to be just a sports Tinder, but a fully fledged tool for physical activity. We had to combine training-partner matching with features that genuinely support the user: groups, communication, routes, statistics and rankings.
- Supporting different skill levels and different disciplines. TeamMe targets a broad group of users, and its features cover running, cycling, trekking and many more. This required designing an app that stays simple to use even though it handles many training scenarios.
- Integrating training data and motivating regularity. One of the key challenges was to create an experience that does not end with meeting new people. The app was designed to support consistency through activity sync with Garmin, rankings, badges and progress analysis.
Development assumptions
The TeamMe project was conceived as a mobile platform and app for people who want to combine sports activity with relationships and social motivation. The solution rests on three pillars: matching training partners, building a community around shared activities, and delivering useful training data. From a product perspective, it was also important to introduce a clear split of features between the free plan and the premium plan, so that users could enter the app without a barrier and then develop their experience as their needs and the software's functionality grow.
Another important assumption was to create a scalable solution. Even at the level of the offer, it is clear that TeamMe is not limited to basic user matching, but is growing towards more advanced analytics, training history, coaching features and notifications that help maintain activity.
Before
Before such a solution, physically active people often used several scattered tools at once: one for logging activity, another for contacting people, another for planning joint workouts and another for analysing progress. There was no single place that combined the social aspect with practical training support. From the user's perspective, this meant more chaos, less consistency and a harder time building a sports routine.
After working with us
The result is a modern mobile app that connects people with a shared passion for sport and supports them in their daily training. Users can find an exercise partner, join a community, create groups, use the messenger, analyse their activities and develop their training based on data and route history. Thanks to the Garmin integration and the mechanics of rankings, badges and progress, the app strengthens motivation, consistency and engagement. The premium model additionally extends the experience with more advanced features for more ambitious users and coaches.
Project
The functional design of the TeamMe app covers a comprehensive ecosystem for physically active people — from creating a sports profile, through matching training partners, to organising joint activities and communication between users. The app includes social features, group creation, a messenger, sports rankings, motivational badges and Garmin integration that enables activity synchronisation and analysis of training data. An important part of the project is also the sports routes module, which allows users to create, share, filter and archive routes for different disciplines, such as running, cycling or trekking. As a result, TeamMe combines the functionality of a sports, social and motivational app in one coherent digital product.
